Untari Road (Palamu): The truth of the development plans in the Naxal-affected area is known from the dilapidated condition of Gavarletwa Marg of Untari Road block. Despite the reduction in Naxal activities in recent years, the department and the sensor are not serious about the actual work. Not only this, work is going on on many useless schemes for their benefit.

Only six months have passed since the construction and blackening of the road from Oraon Tola to Untari Road located in Gavarletwa village of the block. But the road has started breaking at many places. This road has been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana at a cost of about 1.35 crores. Its quality can be gauged by looking at the condition of the four-kilometre long road. The ballast used for construction in this road has started crumbling.

Seeing the truth of the development plans, there is anger among the villagers. They say that substandard material was used during the construction of the road. Due to non-regular monitoring of the scheme by the department, the contractor did not get the work done as per the estimates. JMM Block President Ajay Kumar Gupta and other villagers told that substandard material has been used in the road construction work. This is the reason why the road started breaking as soon as it was built. In this four-kilometre road, potholes have formed at places. Departmental sources said that earlier the road was to be constructed from Gavrletwa village to Kadal Kurmi. But later it was extended from Untari Road Grid to Oraon Tola Gavrletwa. Box:

No written application has been received regarding irregularities in road construction. As soon as the complaint is received, the scheme will be investigated immediately. Along with this, he will also recommend departmental action to the district headquarters.
