Palamu: Oxygen plant being set up in Palamu, PICU ready
Dialogue Associate, Medininagar (Palamu): The Health Department has started preparations to deal with the possible third wave of corona infection. The oxygen plant is being set up at MRMCH under PCA. With this, oxygen will be supplied directly to three hundred beds. Similarly, a 30-bed PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) ward has been made in Medini Rai Medical College Hospital, Medininagar. All state-of-the-art equipment will also be installed in it. Paintings to entice children are being done in the pediatric ward. In addition, there will also be a provision of toys for the children to play with. Apart from this, preparations are being made to treat the infected in two sub-divisional hospitals, eight community health centres and 54 health and wellness centres across the district. Oxygen will be available everywhere.
Corona patients will be treated with high flow nasal cannula machine
In the possible third wave of corona infection, treatment of the infected will be done with high flow nasal cannula. For this, the government has supplied 10 nos. of High Flow Nasal Cannula Machine to Palamu. With this, up to 60 litres of oxygen will be supplied to the patient per hour. This machine will play the role of a lifesaver. This machine has been installed in the isolation ward of MRMCH. box.
The lack of oxygen in the second wave was the cause of trouble
In the last two years, two waves of corona infection have taken 110 lives of Palamu. Now the discussions about the arrival of the third wave are intensifying.
